Turning Transition
into Transformation

FOR MILITARY VETERANS, FIRST RESPONDERS AND PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES

Military veterans, first responders and professional athletes share a similar pride and passion for the uniform they wear. It often defines who they are. Unfortunately, for most, there has been little to no time to focus on what comes after their service or sport. Unforeseen setbacks like injury or early retirement could bring one question into focus much sooner than they ever expected...

"Who am I without the uniform?"

As a Transformation Specialist, Zack Starr uses his "Five Starr Framework" to guide the audience to avoid the loss of identity, depression and suicide ideation that plague those making this tough transition.

The promise... He will show your audience how to thrive in the next phase of life, because their story does not end when the uniform comes off.

"Zack's story was the inspiration that I needed to keep fighting against my PTSD. His message has completely changed my life and helped me find my next step in healing."

KEYNOTE

THRIVE BEYOND THE UNIFORM

Re-defining your purpose, passion & pride for the next chapter in life

Members of the Military and Professional Athletes share a similar pride and passion for the uniform they wear.  It often defines who they are.  Unfortunately, for most, there has been little to no time to focus on what comes after their service or sport.  Unforeseen setbacks like injury or early retirement could bring one question into focus much sooner than they ever expected:

"Who am I now, without the uniform?"

For more than 50% of these veterans and athletes, the resulting transition will lead to the same results:  loss of identity, uncertainty, and depression.  As a disabled veteran who has faced 9 surgeries and years of chronic pain (causing early retirement) he understands this transition and the dangers it can create.

This inspiring keynote pulls from Zack's 15 years of research in injury recovery, mental health, and redefining one's purpose during a major life transition.  By utilizing lessons learned from his own suicidal-to-success story, he has built a framework that will guide others to thrive in the next chapter of life.  Remember - one's story does not end when the uniform comes off.

WORKSHOP

THE COMMUNICATION COMPASS

Re-set your navigation to summit success.

Communication is arguably THE most important factor in human evolution.  With great communication, we can reach the stars.  Void of great communication and we are often inefficient, unproductive and disconnected.

The Communication Compass maps out the four critical components to great communication between teams.  One of these (Purpose) is often highlighted as a necessity, yet the other three are seldom discussed.  We all understand that everything stems from our purpose, however, communication breakdowns usually surface during the interpretation, understanding, and execution of vision.

In this keynote, your attendees will experience an Aha moment that will open up their communication with their team, customers, and vendors alike.  Strengthening of the team dynamic, deeper understanding of customer needs, and a stronger company culture are all expected outcomes from The Communication Compass.

A Veteran's 2,650 mile journey through the darkness.

After years of chronic pain and facing a 6th surgery for a Military service-ending injury, Zack Starr’s life was at a crossroads.  Determined to no longer allow his injury to define him, Zack sets off on an intense 2,650 mile solo hike along “The Everest of Hiking Trails” (The Pacific Crest Trail).

This documentary film follows his journey as he navigates daily challenges, extreme weather and dangerous terrain.  But when word reaches him on trail that doctors cannot offer any relief from his escalating pain, Zack is forced into a familiar dark place of hopelessness which threatens his finish.  In a powerful twist of events, he uncovers a truth that will forever change his life.
